Bio info:
Marcy Italiano works as a Web Designer by day. If you need a website made
for you, please visit The Web Lizard.
By night, she is a writer of dark fiction and non-fiction. To find out
more about her writing please visit her personal
website.
Musically:
Marcy grew up playing piano. She was classically trained to the Grade
Eight level and started to compose until she gave it up in high school.
Marcy also spent many years singing in church choirs, as well as singing
in a play at her high school for a couple of years. When she met Giasone,
they worked together for the first time and wrote a song that Marcy sang
at her high school graduation. Once they reached University, Giasone invited
Marcy to play bass for his band, Home Brew, which later became Bertha's
Attic.
Years later, Marcy started attending songwriting conferences and songwriting
groups with Giasone both in Waterloo and Toronto. She intially contributed
lyric ideas and slowly started to collaborate on musical ideas as well.
This lead to the writing of "Every Day is Mother's Day" which
received Honourable Mention in the Unisong contest in 2005. With her dark
fiction writing background, Marcy was thrilled to work on the Johnny Gruesome
Project. She is presently taking up piano again and has returned to singing.
Marcy was Classically trained, but she is also familiar with (and really
enjoys) of Jazz, Blues, Adult Contemporary, Folk, Rock, Heavy Metal, Punk,
Raggae... but she's not really a fan of Country music. She can write it,
but she's not going to necessarily like it.
